The 2023 version of Motorola's Moto G Power, popular for its long battery life, compromises some of that endurance in exchange for modern features. The new model presents 5G connectivity, an enhanced screen, and a more powerful processor.

Resultantly, Motorola's battery claims are no more ambitious this year, and the price has hiked as well. While last year's 128 GB model had a price tag of $249, the latest edition begins at $299. Nevertheless, it could still be a budget-friendly phone worth contemplating.

Motorola G 5g reviews

The Motorola Moto G Power 5G showcases a substantial 5,000mAh battery and is featured with a MediaTek Dimensity 930 processor and 4GB of RAM. This appears to be a noteworthy upgrade from the previous 4G-only Helio G37 chip that was present in the 2022 Moto G Power, which faced significant backlash. Of course, 5G connectivity is integrated, which is expected in a new phone released in 2023.

The new Moto G Power presents a 1080p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade from the previous version's 720p 90Hz screen.

The heightened resolution is an embraced addition on such a large display, and the higher refresh rate should deliver perceptibly smoother motion and animations.

The phone maintains its 50-megapixel main camera, although the macro and depth cameras are considered largely unnecessary. On the bright side, it still includes a headphone jack.

Expectedly, Motorola has made fewer assertions about its battery life this time. While the 2022 model claimed up to three days of battery life, this year's version pledges "up to 38 hours," which equates to a little over a day and a half. Considering the inclusion of 5G and a more energy-consuming screen, this was unsurprising.

Emphasising these feature enhancements over a prolonged battery life might be a practical decision since most people have the habit of charging their phones overnight. If the screen and processor enhancements perform as anticipated, the latest Moto G Power could offer excellent value for the money.
