Does the thought of an on-call conversation with an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ever make your head spin? If never, then brace for such functionality on one of the top (AI) tools currently leading the realm.
That tool is Character.AI, which earlier this week announced a new feature called Character Calls, to allow users to have voice calls with AI chatbots.
Languages supported on Character.ai
Besides being capable of offering in-app voice calls, the newly integrated feature is designed to simulate both a real person and a fictional character. The list below contains the top languages supported for audibly real telephonic calls on Chatacte.ai.

It should be noted that another reputable contender in this domain, Arc Search (an AI tool), launched a similar feature last month.
The announcement of the Character Calls feature's rollout was made on the official website of Character.ai, wherein the company stated that the feature at the moment is exclusively accessible on the app, with its potential integration across platforms being slated for the near future.
Character launched a similar feature in March this year named Character Voice, and the reason it lags behind the current voice calling feature is that it only supported one-way conversations with AI bots.
By making the most of Character.ai's text-to-speech prowess, it enabled users to text the bot and it would respond in voice. However, users with Character Calls can now relish the two-way verbal communication, a hands-free experience of chatting with an AI character.
Is old.character.ai better than new character.ai?
The new version of Character.ai is generally considered better than the old one due to improved AI models, enhanced user interface, expanded features, and more sophisticated character development tools. These updates provide a more engaging, accurate, and user-friendly experience compared to the older version.

Note that Character.ai has not been unblocked as it was not blocked, rather it underwent a little incident, which it often does with email login verification issues. However, no updates indicate a lifting of any restrictions or unblocking (Character AI Status) (Character AI Status).
