Nintendo Switch 2 is likely to support 4K resolution — similar to the popular game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Dataminer RibShark announced that Nintendo Switch 2 might support a 3,840 x 2,160, or 4K, resolution. He wrote: “There seems to be code for handling 4K resolutions in the new Paper Mario TTYD remake. No idea if this is normal for Switch games or not but I thought it was interesting."

As the rumour surfaced on social media, users were curious to know about it and began pointing to its successor being being capable of supporting 4K resolutions and also to enhance existing Nintendo Switch games through backwards compatibility patches.

However, the reality is surely far more ordinary and the reason behind the addition of 4K resolution support is only to allow Nintendo to capture exceptional quality of screenshots for several purposes but especially because of marketing majors.

That said, recently the president of the company has hinted that the Nintendo Switch 2 Moniker will surely be an "appropriate" way to interpret the soon-to-be released hardware.

Additionally, shareholder’s last year Q&A session has also hinted that Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible. If the rumour holds any truth then improvement patches for recent Nintendo Switch titles are not resistant and in that case future consoles are likely to support greater resolution.
