Nokia launched the G42 5G in India in September 2023 with two colour options and a single configuration for RAM and storage. Following up in October last year, the company added a third colour variant and expanded the options with a second RAM and storage variant. 

Now, Nokia has announced a 4GB RAM version, which will be the most affordable variant. This variant will be available for purchase later this month.

Nokia G42 5G features a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 560 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 13.

For battery life, the Nokia G42 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W wired fast charging. It also supports 5G, GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C connectivity. The device comes with an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance and features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. It measures 165mm x 8.55mm x 75.8mm and weighs 193.8g.

Nokia G42 5G sports a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with two 2-megapixel sensors and an LED flash unit on the rear, while the front camera houses an 8-megapixel sensor.

The new 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the Nokia G42 5G is priced at INR 9,999. Meanwhile, the 6GB + 128GB option is currently priced at INR 12,999, and the 8GB + 256GB variant is listed at INR 16,999. The new variant will be sold through Amazon and the HMD website starting March 8.
