Nothing has rolled out the Circle to Search feature, driven by artificial intelligence (AI) to its smartphones. In a community post, the company confirmed the availability of the Circle to Search feature on the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, Nothing Phone 2a, and the Phone 2 as part of the Nothing OS 3.0 update.

Notably, Nothing said that the feature wasn’t included in the initial release of Nothing OS 3.0 because it required additional testing.

Currently, Nothing Phone 2a Plus users can only download the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1. It comes with the following build numbers:

  • Nothing Phone 2: Pong-V3.0-241207-0124
  • Phone 2a: Pacman-V3.0-241210-2057
  • Phone 2a Plus: PacmanPro-V3.0-241126-1448 (Beta build)

How to use Circle to Search on Nothing smartphones

Circle to Search allows users to search for something on the web by highlighting it on the screen and enables visual lookup, leveraging AI.

Moreover, it supports actions, such as scribbling, circling or drawing over an object and text on the screen. The feature can be used to translate or copy text as well. If you’re confused about how to use Circle to Search on Nothing smartphones, Gadinsider has got you covered.

  1. To use Circle to Search on Nothing phones, you’ll be required to enable it first.
  2. Launch Settings > Special features > Gestures > Navigation mode > Circle to Search.
  3. If you don’t see the option right away, Nothing suggested rebooting your phone and trying again.
  4. The feature works with both gesture navigation and the traditional three-button navigation, so you can use it no matter how you’ve set up your phone’s interface.

On Nothing smartphones, Circle to Search supports numerous navigation modes. When using the three-button navigation, users can simply press the home button to bring up Circle to Search. Meanwhile, long-pressing the navigation bar brings up the AI feature if the gesture navigation method is selected.
