Nubia Flip 5G made its debut as the first foldable smartphone from the ZTE-owned brand during the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC) in Barcelona on Tuesday, February 27. This clamshell foldable showcases a 6.9-inch OLED display sporting a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.  

Equipped with a 4,310mAh battery, the Nubia Flip 5G supports 33W fast charging and is expected to rival devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, and Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G when it goes on sale. 

Nubia Flip 5G specifications

The Nubia Flip 5G showcases a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display with a resolution of 1,188 x 2,790 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Additionally, it sports a 1.43-inch cover screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, facilitating access to various applications without the need to unfold the device.

Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, offering configurations with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Featuring a dual-rail suspended hinge, the device is touted to withstand over 200,000 unfolds. It houses a 4,310mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

In terms of camera, the Nubia Flip 5G boasts a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, complemented by a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

According to Gadgets360, the price of Nubia Flip 5G will start from $599 (approximately INR 50,000), positioning itself as a budget-friendly foldable phone. For context, Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5, featuring a similar vertical display, starts at $999 (roughly INR 82,000) in the US, while the Oppo Find N3 Flip commences at CNY 6,799 (approximately INR 77,000) in China. In Europe, Motorola's Razr 40 starts at EUR 900 (around INR 80,000). 

The retail price of the Nubia Flip 5G will vary in different markets. However, Nubia has yet to disclose availability details for the new flip phone.
