Nubia has made its entry into the foldable smartphone market with the introduction of the Nubia Flip 5G. The device is set to make its official debut at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 event in Barcelona on February 26.
Gizmochina reported that the company teased the launch of the device through its Weibo account today. According to the official poster, the phone adopts a compact, vertically folding design and features a circular display on the back.

This design closely resembles that of the recently launched ZTE Libero Flip, suggesting that the Nubia Flip 5G might be a rebranded version intended for the global market.
Nubia Flip 5G specifications
Recapping the specifications of the Libero Flip, it features a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display with FHD+ resolution, along with a secondary 1.43-inch cover display boasting 466 x 466px resolution.
Nubia Flip 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, the device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, it ships with the Android 13 OS with ZTE UI layered on top. There's hope that the Nubia Flip 5G will come pre-installed with Android 14.
Despite sharing similarities with the ZTE Libero Flip, ZTE has incorporated several foldable-specific features. For instance, users can split menu items across both sides of the folding screen, while the external display supports various functionalities such as camera usage for selfies, step tracking, weather updates, and music playback control.
