Nvidia’s highly anticipated GeForce RTX 5080, the most robust card in its latest series, is expected to release on January 21. Its timing aligns with the company’s presence at CES, where CEO Jensen Huang will deliver the inauguration speech on January 6.

The technology showcase is likely to serve as the launch for Nvidia’s next-gen Blackwell gaming GPU architecture.

The forthcoming RTX 5080 is likely to feature a wide range of 10,752 CUDA cores. While maintaining the 16GB VRAM variant of its predecessor, the RTX 5080 will be integrated with GDDR7 memory technology. These memory modules will operate at 30Gbps.

The device expected to be equipped with a 256-bit memory bus width, allowing the card to achieve almost 960GB/s of memory bandwidth, marking a significant step ahead, exceeding the RTX 4080 by 34% and the RTX 4080 Super by 30%.

Further reports suggested a potential price hike, though users are recommended to wait for Nvidia’s official announcement at CES regarding the real-world performance metrics.

Hong Kong-based tech media outlet HKEPC (@hkepcmedia) suggested the RTX 5080 will be available to purchase two weeks after its official launch. The launch timeline for the top-tier RTX 5090 has yet to be revealed by the company. In addition, it will likely be released either alongside its younger sibling or later in January. However, these details regarding its launch are purely speculative and are yet to be confirmed by the company.
