OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next-generation flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12, on December 4. The company has been teasing some of the features and specifications of the device on its official website and social media platforms. Here are some of the key aspects of the OnePlus 12 that we know so far.
OnePlus 12: A+ rating from DisplayMate
One of the highlights of the OnePlus 12 is its display, which has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate, a leading authority on display quality and performance. The OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 6.8-inch QHD+ (1,440x3,200 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The display will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
OnePlus 12: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC
The OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which is the latest and most powerful chipset from the chipmaker. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is based on a 4nm process and has an octa-core CPU with a peak clock speed of 3.2GHz. The chipset also has an Adreno 740 GPU, a Hexagon 790 DSP, a Spectra 680 ISP, and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem. The OnePlus 12 will also have up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Hasselblad-Branded Quad rear camera setup
The OnePlus 12 will sport a Hasselblad-branded quad rear camera setup, which is expected to consist of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. The rear cameras will support 8K video recording, OIS, EIS, and 10x hybrid zoom. The front-facing camera will be a 32-megapixel sensor that will support 4K video recording and EIS.
5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging
The OnePlus 12 will pack a 5,000mAh battery that will support 100W fast charging, which is claimed to fully charge the device in just 25 minutes. The device will also support 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The OnePlus 12 will run on Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 on top and will offer features like dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, and USB Type-C port.
Four shades to choose from
OnePlus 12 will be available in four colour options: Eternal Green, Titan Black, Instant Blue, and Ochre Yellow. The company has teased the first two colours on its website, while the latter two have been leaked by a tipster on Weibo. The Ochre Yellow colour option is said to be a limited edition variant that may not be available in all markets. The OnePlus 12 will also have a metal frame and a glass back with a matte finish.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to be priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 48,000) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant, CNY 4,399 (roughly Rs. 53,000) for the 16GB + 256GB variant, and CNY 4,899 (roughly Rs. 59,000) for the 16GB + 512GB variant. The device will be launched on December 4 at 7:30 pm IST via an online event that will be live-streamed on the OnePlus website and YouTube channel.
