OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to launch its second foldable handset in China, the OnePlus Open 2, next year. After not releasing a successor to the first-gen OnePlus Open in 2024, a credible analyst has now tipped its potential launch in 2025.
The OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be a rehashed version of the Oppo Find N5, which is also slated for release in 2025, featuring Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
OnePlus Open 2 likely to house latest flagship Snapdragon chipset
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), tipster Sanju Chaudhary revealed that the OnePlus Open 2 will be unveiled in China in the second half of 2025. If the claim turns out to be accurate, the OnePlus Open 2 will likely feature the same Snapdragon chipset as the Chinese variant of the Oppo Find N5.
However, if the OnePlus Open 2 is set for release in the second half of 2025, it will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset. Qualcomm typically unveils its newest Snapdragon at its annual summit in October.
OnePlus Open 2 specifications (expected)
According to a credible tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Open 2 is expected to feature several key specifications. The device will likely be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, sporting an enlarged screen with high-resolution capabilities. Additionally, the OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be equipped with a massive 5,700mAh battery.
OnePlus is also reportedly working on a custom USB port designed to enhance compatibility with Hasselblad-tuned rear cameras.
It’s important to note that the details regarding the specifications and launch of the OnePlus Open 2 are purely speculative, and are yet to be officially confirmed by OnePlus ahead of the expected release.
