Artificial intelligence (AI) has been the most reckless rage since 2021, the year when OpenAI's ChatGPT came into being, and its skyrocketing success has attracted every tech giant in the tech sphere to venture into this domain.

OpenAI search engine

As the GPT maker has ventured into the realm of search engines with the release of SearchGPT, all the search engine geeks and industry experts appear to have indulged in nothing but nitpicking the upsides and downsides to determine in what respects SearchGPT beats Google Search.

1. SearchGPT asks follow-up questions

As is the tradition of any ultimate search engine, OpenAI's SearchGPT offers a great way to be more interactive and deliver satisfactory answers to users' queries.

OpenAI says that users will be "able to ask follow-up questions, as you would in a conversation with a person, with the shared context building with each query."

2. OpenAI's SearchGPT is ad-free

If you happen to be with a sane and sound brain, then this property of OpenAI's SearchGPT does not need an explanation. OpenAI's search engine does not flood the search results page with ads from marketers.

Unlike Google, users need to steer through an abundance of unwanted ads from sponsors before getting the results they actually want.

3. OpenAI search engine has simpler interface

One of the most significant properties of SearchGPT is that it offers a much simpler interface compared to Google Search. No matter how hurried and desperate you are to get your desired result, Google Search and Perplexity showcase page-filler content which is mostly of no use.

SearchGPT lets you conduct research with a good and decent-looking search bar which is said to be designed to bring what you really want.

4. OpenAI's search engine collaborates with publishers

While it may sound extravagance and over-consciousness from OpenAI to ensure fact-based answers. The point under question is that the GPT maker claims that it's working with prominent publishers and reporters to prioritise journalism over other reports.

What sets it apart is another aspect: SearhGPT provides results with proper citations so users can navigate to the official publication to confirm claims made in a report.
