OPPO, one of the leading smartphone brands in the world, has launched its latest model, the OPPO A2, in China. The cell phone is a budget-friendly smartphone that offers impressive features such as a 6.5-inch display, a quad rear camera setup, a 5000mAh battery, and a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The OPPO A2 is priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly PKR 38,000) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and CNY 1,799 (roughly PKR 40,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The handset is available in three colour options: Aurora Blue, Moonlight Black, and Starry Purple.
OPPO A2: Display and design
The OPPO A2 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display also has a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner that houses the selfie camera. The phone has a sleek and stylish design with a gradient back panel that reflects different hues depending on the angle of light. The back panel also has a rectangular camera module that houses four sensors and a flash. The OPPO A2 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The smartphone measures 163.9x75.7x8.4mm and weighs 190 grams.
OPPO A2: Camera and performance
The smartphone boasts a quad rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear cameras support features such as night mode, portrait mode, panorama, time-lapse, and slow motion. The OPPO A2 also has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture that supports AI beautification, HDR, and bokeh effects.
The cell phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor that clocks up to 2GHz. The processor is paired with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The OPPO A2 runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 on top. The handset also supports dual-SIM (Nano) connectivity, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The OPPO A2 claims to offer up to 34 hours of talk time, up to 16 hours of video playback, up to 10 hours of gaming, and up to 27 days of standby time on a single charge. The smartphone also supports reverse charging, which means it can be used to charge other devices via a USB cable. The phone also comes with some other features such as Game Space, Game Focus Mode, Hyper Boost, and Multi-User Mode.
