A delegation of the Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) held a meeting with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters on Wednesday, to discuss the facilitation of all freelancers who are afflicted by the current internet woes in the country.

For the past few months, Pakistan has been experiencing a severe internet outage that has afflicted online businesses and software houses all over the country, tarnishing Pakistan’s image worldwide.

The internet has become almost 40% slower than normal since July, which compelled users to switch to the Virtual private network (VPNs) to streamline their workflow. However, VPNs are unreliable, insecure, and unregistered networks nationwide.

PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman showed hospitality to the delegation of PAFLA and notified PTA’s efforts to streamline the matter and resolve the ongoing issues, especially for the Information technology (IT) sector.

In this regard, VPNs are registered to facilitate and offer incessant operations for all online businesses, freelancers, foreign embassies, and more. Pakistan is rapidly marching towards the peak in the IT industry, but a pause at this time would severely affect the country’s economy and accomplishments.

VPN registration is a gratuitous and one of the easiest processes which requires only up to two to three days. The PTA team further discussed initiatives and efforts to spread awareness regarding online businesses and freelancers through interactive sessions, webinars, podcasts and tutorials.

PAFLA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President Mr. Tufail Ahmed Khan was quite satisfied with PTA’s efforts and appreciated it for taking the helm for incessant connectivity to the freelancing community of the country.
