In line with the rapidly evolving realm of technological advancement, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) at the IDEAS 2024 announced to build the Pakistan Fighter X (PFX), a fighter jet equipped with cutting-edge weaponry technology.

Set to expand Pakistan's defence equipment portfolio and raise the country's high-end military prowess, the fighter jet follows the development of the JF-17 Thunder Block 3 by Pakistan's military force.

As per the official announcement made by PAF at IDEAS 2024 —the biennially held defence exhibition happening in Karachi— the making of the Fighter X will be a product of Pakistan's in-house defence venture.

Equipped with sophisticated technology, the PFX is a 4.5-plus generation fighter jet, said PAF air commodore Azhar.

The PAF higher-up highlighted that the control system installed on the fighter jet is also an inhouse technology of Pakistan since the military force is developing the jet without outsourcing any technology or expertise.
