Apple may be gearing up to shake things up yet again with its flagship smartphones. Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) CEO and Co-founder Ross Young reported that the iPhone 17 Plus could be on the horizon, sporting a smaller screen compared to its predecessors.
Young, known for his spot-on predictions regarding Apple's display specifications, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to drop an interesting hint about the potential screen size of the iPhone 17 Plus. Young's revelation suggests a screen larger than the standard iPhone 17 yet smaller than the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
This departure from the usual playbook could mark a strategic move by Apple to offer a more diverse range of iPhone models, catering to different preferences and budgets. However, before we get too carried away with excitement, it's essential to note that the purported iPhone 17 Plus, slated for a possible release in the latter half of 2025, could deviate from the norm by sporting a slightly reduced display size.
Previous iterations like the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus boasted the same generous 6.7-inch screen as their Pro Max counterparts. With reports suggesting a similar trajectory for the upcoming iPhone 16 Plus, the stage is set for Apple to introduce a fresh approach with the iPhone 17 series.
