Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a 15% discount reduction for flights between Pakistan and Toronto.

Passengers are said to take benefit of this offer by buying tickets before October 15 (Tuesday) for travel up to December 20, 2024.

The PIA’s main focus is to facilitate financial loads and empower increased travel between Pakistan and Canada.

According to the reports, there are further delays in the privatisation process for Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL). Potential bidders have requested additional information, which may result in an extension of the bidding deadline, which is set for October 31 (Thursday).

Recently, during a Senate Standing Committee on Privatisation meeting, progress on the privatisation of PIA and power distribution companies (DISCOs) was reviewed.

The privatisation secretary stated that the timeline for the process relies on ongoing evaluations and negotiations, as some bidders need more time.

Moreover, the privatisation secretary shed light on issues regarding legacy liabilities. The chairperson directed the privatisation secretary to finalise the process by October 31, highlighting the importance of these efforts for Pakistan’s future and stating optimism for positive outcomes from the PIACL privatisation initiatives.
