
Pokémon GO, one of the most popular mobile games that has been a global phenomenon since its release in 2016, is celebrating its eighth anniversary with launch of an exciting special event and new features. The game allows players to catch and train Pokémon in the real world using their mobile devices, that has made this game one of the favourites among gamers of all ages.
Pokémon GO 8th anniversary event activities
The anniversary event will be going to feature several exciting activities and rewards for the players. Here are some of the highlights,
New Pokémon Two will feature new costumed Pokémon, Grimer and Muk, will be debut during the event, and the players will be having the chance to catch them in the wild.
- Shiny Celebi
Shiny Celebi will return to game through a new Special Research storyline.
- Timed research
A timed research task bundle will be available for $2, including a Super Incubator, Premium Battle Pass, and the Meltan encounter.
- Increased spawns
Certain Pokémon will spawn more frequently during event.
- Lucky friends
Players will be having an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends.
- Faster friendship levels
Friendship levels will increase faster through opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles.

- Mystery Box
The Mystery Box will have a chance to spawn a shiny Meltan during the event.
Additionally, the event will feature,
- New Avatar Items
Players will be able to purchase new avatar items, including hats, jackets, and pants.
- Stickers
Event-themed stickers will be available through the spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing from the in-game shop.
- Anniversary Box
A special Anniversary Box will be available for the players in Pokémon GO Web Store, including the three Remote Raid Passes, one Incubator, and three Premium Battle Passes for $4.99.

The Pokémon GO 8th Anniversary event will take place from June 28 to July 3. The event will start at 10:00 a.m. local time on June 28 and end at 8:00 p.m. local time on July 3.
