Keeping up with the emerging trends and technologies in the realm of web content, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) launched Text-to-Speech feature on its website.

The integration of the feature is primarily executed for the website sections comprising blogs and articles, ensuring better ease of access for website visitors looking for specific content on the PSX website.

Just like it commonly helps users in finding something on the web using voice commands on a smartphone, the Text-to-Speech feature would prove to be immensely fruitful for those more prone to listen content rather than read.

Moreover, the feature would also serve as a virtual assistant for traders with visual impairment, reading difficulties, or simply for people who prefer indulging in multitasking and thereby are more likely to listen to the content.

“We are delighted to introduce the Text-to-Speech facility enhancing accessibility for all PSX website users, specifically those who access the blogs & articles section of the website," said Farrukh H. Khan, PSX MD & CEO, while expressing contentment over the launch of the Text-to-Speech feature.

This remarkable feat hints at PSX’s commitment to make the most of technology to serve its stakeholders, customers and website users, he added.

The milestones was attained by adding audio players in various blogs and articles on the PSX website and the ability to be customised for multiple functionalities, such as adjusting playback speed and simplified navigation.

PSX Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer Ms. Raeda Latif said, “Introducing the Text-to-Speech facility on the PSX website is an important development which augments PSX’s standing as a robust and modern Exchange that caters to the diverse needs of its customers, stakeholders, investors and issuers."

"By adding value to the education and awareness activities in the form of Text-to-Speech feature in its website blogs & articles section, PSX has once again shown its resolve to use technology to facilitate its stakeholders including its website users who may have varied needs or impairments. This demonstrates PSX is a responsible Exchange which is committed to ESG including its D&I concerns,” she added.
