In view of a surge in online scams and cyber security attacks compromising data integrity and causing financial loss, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday kicked off Cybersecurity Awareness Week 2024.

Slated to run through December 15, the cybersecurity week is aimed at making Pakistan digitally knowledgeable at both individual and consumer levels.

The week-long initiative also urges citizens to be well-versed in online security, data privacy, and the legal aspects of cybercrimes under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.

Regarding this, the telecom regulator is likely to organise expert discussions to provide individuals and enterprises with insights crucial to protect themselves in the face of emerging cyber threats.

Moreover, the authority has also invited citizens, businesses, and educational institutions to play their part in consolidating Pakistan’s cybersecurity environment, urging them to follow its set of instructions listed below.
