A Chinese company has announced its plan to establish a robotic agriculture equipment manufacturing plant in Punjab, Pakistan.
The development came to light on Monday when Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz was on an eight-day visit to China.
Robotic agriculture equipment in Pakistan
On the first day of the Punjab chief minister’s visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Chinese company AI Force Tech and the Punjab Agriculture Department to promote agriculture and improve farmers’ lives in Pakistan.
The MoU facilitates collaboration on developing and manufacturing robotic farm equipment to boost agricultural productivity in Punjab.
During her meeting with AI Force Tech founder Dr Han, the chief minister highlighted the reforms in Punjab’s agriculture sector and her government’s full support and determination.
"Our commitment is to ensure the prosperity of farmers by adopting modern technology in the agriculture sector," CM Punjab stated.
A delegation from the Chinese company will soon visit Punjab at her invitation to further this collaboration, Maryam stated.
Moreover, the chief minister visited the Blue Tech Clean Air Alliance and met with the company chairman Zi Hongsheng to discuss innovative methods to combat air pollution and address climate change.
In this regard, an MoU was signed between the Punjab Environment Department and the Blue Tech Clean Air Alliance to collaborate on environmental improvement projects in the province.
