Report claims Apple's smallest computer M4 Mac Mini launching this year

The tech giant Apple has been gradually increasing the sizes of its products over the past few years. 

Be it iPhone, MacBook, or iPad, the company registered size bumps; however, in view of a claim made in a latest report, it seems that the iPhone maker is keen to go back in time and reintroduce a smaller device this year.

M4 Mac Mini release date

Citing a Bloomberg report, Business Today said Apple is expected to launch the smallest Mac Mini this year equipped with its highest-end M4 and M4 Pro chips.

If comes to fruition, the M4 Mac Mini would put an end to the design strategy Apple has been employing for over a decade, since 2010.

The publication went on to add that the latest Mac Mini could be 1.4-inch high or a bit higher, reminiscent of the size in which Apple offered the current Apple TV.

Regarding the external build, aluminium shell is speculated to adorn the M4 Mac Mini, forming a visual appeal that would look immensely like "an iPad Pro in a small box,” as disclosed by the people working on the latest version of Mac Mini.

On the back of the M4 Mac Mini, possibilities are high that we might get to see the Type-C ports which Apple reportedly tested recently, alongside power cable and HDMI port.

M4 Mac Mini models

There are expected to be two variants in the pipeline, with one powered by the standard M4 chip, which Apple ingrained in the iPad Pro. While the other model would come in with an M4 Pro chip.
