Just like the skyrocketing surge in artificial intelligence (AI) and the realm of technology, the modernised era is witnessing a rise of search engines.
SearchGPT vs Google
As OpenAI recently introduced SearchGPT, its own search engine, to dethrone Google's dominance in the battle of internet searches, Google is on the verge of being exterminated by Sam Altman's OpenAI while awaiting the US antitrust regulators' verdict on what protocols should be made mandatory to compete in this domain, Reuters reported.
An antitrust ruling held in the US on Monday claimed that Google's upper hand in the search engine business stems from an illicitly established monopoly.

While the ruling is said to be a huge win for US regulators, the notable uptick in the usage of AI tools, including OpenAI's ChatGPT, seems to be snagging Google's crown away.
"I think for Google right now, AI (is) a much bigger deal than the ruling. AI is fundamentally changing how the search product also works," said Arvind Jain, a former Google engineer who worked on various Google products, including Search.
Now heading his own search company named Glean, Jain said the mark AI left is indelible compared to these rulings that gain traction and take some time and take too long to leave an impact.
If it falls against Google, the ruling will pave the foundations for Apple's venture into AI-backed search services in case there's forceful termination of its Search deal with Google, according to analysts.
