Samsung is set to enhance its Care+ Theft & Loss plan by offering free screen replacements for Galaxy S phones starting January 15, 2025. This new benefit will eliminate the $29 service fee previously charged for screen repairs.
However, this benefit will not be applicable to the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip phones. Samsung Care+ offers additional protection for Galaxy users by lowering the cost of repairing and replacing phones.
The insurance package comes in several tiers, including the premium Theft & Loss coverage for stolen devices. Earlier this year, Samsung improved Care+ by offering unlimited battery replacements for eligible devices. The company is enhancing it further by offering free screen replacements.
Samsung Care+ screen replacement availability
Customers will not need to pay the $29 service fee from January 15, 2025, for replacing their Galaxy phones' broken or cracked screens if they have Samsung Care+.
However, this only refers to the Theft & Loss tier for an additional cost. If a Samsung Care+ is present on your device, there will be an additional cost of $29 for replacing the back glass or front display as service charges.
The free replacement will include the front display and back glass, but will only be viable to Samsung's Galaxy S series, excluding the folding Galaxy Z Fold and Flip lineups. There may be a limit to the number of times you can replace your Galaxy phone's screen annually under the insurance package.
For lost or stolen devices, Samsung allows a maximum of three claims in 12 months but has no limit for repairs due to accidental damage.
