Samsung is working on a new handset for the Galaxy A-series, the Galaxy A36, which is set to debut as a successor to the Galaxy A35.
While Samsung has yet to confirm the launch date and timeline, recent leaks suggest that the handset’s front camera will likely get a noteworthy upgrade.
Samsung Galaxy A36 with upgraded front camera
Citing a Galaxy Club report, the Galaxy A36 will feature a 12 MP selfie camera that will likely deliver quality improvements despite the lower pixels, compared to the 13 MP sensor Samsung has been using in the A-series.
Samsung will maintain a difference in camera quality between the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56, another Samsung A-series flagship that is currently under development.

The report also suggested that the Galaxy A36 will sport a 50 MP main rear camera similar to its predecessor. The camera setup could also include a 5MP macro sensor and an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera.

As per recent a Geekbench listing, the Galaxy A36 is anticipated to come with a thin body with 162.6 x 77.9x 7.4mm dimensions. The handset will be powered either by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.
The Galaxy A36 is expected to feature 6GB of RAM and could run on Android 15. Moreover, it will include an in-display fingerprint sensor.
