Samsung is set to make significant upgrades to its Galaxy S25 series, addressing previous concerns about the base model's specifications.
With many brands adopting 12GB RAM as a standard for mid-range and flagship phones, Samsung is pushing the envelope with the Galaxy S25.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series upgrade RAM and storage
A credible leak on X has revealed that the basic Galaxy S25 will feature 12GB of RAM, an upgrade from the previous 8GB in the Galaxy S24. This increase in RAM will enhance the phone's performance, especially for background apps and multitasking.
Additionally, the base storage will be upgraded from 128GB to 256GB, aligning with other flagship competitors.
What to expect from increased RAM in Galaxy S25 models?
The addition of 12GB RAM is a strategic move for the Galaxy AI onboard the Samsung One UI. With newer Snapdragon chips, the built-in artificial intelligence (AI) performs better with more RAM, reducing reliance on cloud-based AI for processing requests.
Upcoming Android updates will also benefit from the expanded RAM, ensuring smoother performance and a better user experience.
Galaxy S25 Ultra rumours
There are also rumours about the Galaxy S25 Ultra receiving a RAM upgrade. The current Ultra model comes with 12 GB of RAM, but with the "Ultra" label, this may no longer be sufficient. Samsung is expected to increase the RAM to up to 16GB, providing even better performance for power users.
