Samsung’s Galaxy S25+ is making headlines again after a Geekbench listing hinted at the possibility of Exynos processors returning to its flagship series.
The highly anticipated phone was initially expected to feature only Snapdragon chips, but this new development has sparked speculation about a Snapdragon and Exynos split for the S25 series.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25+ Geekbench test
The Geekbench test showed the Galaxy S25+ (model code SM-S936B) powered by a 10-core chip, believed to be the Exynos 2500 SoC, with impressive scores: 2358 in single-core and 8211 in multi-core tests.
These scores are nearly identical to the previously spotted Snapdragon 8 Elite variant, suggesting Samsung’s in-house chip may now rival Snapdragon’s performance. The Exynos chip features a prime core running at a 3.3GHz clock speed, offering a solid boost in power.
Earlier Geekbench sightings in November showed the S25+ using the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, leading many experts to believe that Samsung would drop Exynos for this series entirely.
However, the latest test results indicate that the Exynos 2500 could be making a comeback.
The Geekbench listing didn’t confirm the processor’s name, but “Exynos 2500” is widely considered the likely candidate, based on its hierarchy and performance.
It’s also worth noting that this test could have been conducted on a prototype, leaving room for speculation about whether Samsung will stick with a Snapdragon-only lineup or bring back the Exynos split for select markets.
Samsung Galaxy S25+ availability
The Samsung Galaxy S25+ launch is expected soon, and more leaks are likely to clarify whether this surprise Exynos entry will make it into the final lineup.
