As we await the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event scheduled to take place on January 22, 2025, a recent report has indicated that the purported Galaxy S25 Ultra might come with a car crash detection feature.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 Ultra alongside the Galaxy S25, and Galaxy S25+ at the launch.

Notably, the Galaxy S25 series might hit stores on February 4, 2025, for customers who pre-reserve these handsets at the launch.

A recent discovery by Android Authority suggested that Samsung is working on a car crash detection feature for its smartphones, likely for the Galaxy S25 Ultra model.

The report also indicated that the feature, which is currently inactive, will utilise a composite sensor to analyse data from various smartphone sensors, including the accelerometer and GPS.

Notably, Samsung's rivals, Google and Apple, have already implemented car crash detection features in their devices.

Introduced with the iPhone 14 series in 2022, Apple's feature uses a dual-core accelerometer and high dynamic range gyroscope to detect crashes and contact emergency services.

On the other hand, Google’s feature employs AI-powered Activity Recognition to analyse data from the Pixel's accelerometer, GPS, and microphone and call emergency services when necessary.
