Samsung has officially scheduled the Galaxy Unpacked event to take place before January ends, holding its next big product launch in San Jose, California, just like the 2024 edition of its January product launch.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025 refers to the next generation of Galaxy S phones — that would be the Galaxy S25 lineup. While there are plenty of rumours about what's coming to these handsets, Samsung has indicated that artificial intelligence (AI) features will be a significant focus of its event.

Moreover, the company has suggested a new headset is coming this year based on the Android XR platform. It is claimed that the Galaxy Unpacked event will be an ideal time to talk more about this device.

When will Galaxy Unpacked 2025 happen?

According to Samsung, Galaxy Unpacked will take place on January 22 at 1pm ET / 10 am PT / 6 pm GMT. The event returns to San Jose, California, where last year's Galaxy Unpacked event took place in mid-January.

Users will be able to watch the live event on Samsung’s official website, along with on the Samsung YouTube channel.

What to expect from Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event 2025?

Here are some of the major announcements you can expect from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event:

Samsung Galaxy S25

Samsung is set to announce the Galaxy S25 family at the Galaxy Unpacked event, having already confirmed that new phones will launch in early 2025. Its Unpacked event refers to the next generation of Galaxy S phones.

It is expected that Samsung will offer the same models that usually make up its flagship lineup, a standard phone joined by the Galaxy S25 Plus and the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung has confirmed that it's going to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite, with leakers indicating the new Qualcomm chipset will power every model.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim

Samsung is rumoured to be working on another member of the Galaxy S25 family, an ultra-thin version dubbed the Galaxy S25 Slim. The distinguishing feature of this rumoured device is that it would be dramatically thinner than other Samsung flagships.

Galaxy Z Flip FE

According to the rumours, Samsung foldables have swirled around for a while. Talk of a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold has died down, but rumours of another lower-cost foldable have risen to take its place.

Samsung could have a Galaxy Z Flip FE in the works with the idea of offering a cheaper version of its $1,099 foldable flip phone.

One UI 7

Samsung's most-awaited One UI 7 interface based on Android 15 is rumoured to launch with Samsung's new phones, so the software could get some face time at Unpacked, particularly if there are new features to highlight.

Mixed reality devices

Samsung's headset plans have come into focus after Google announced the Android XR platform that will support new headsets and glasses, like the planned Samsung offering. Samsung has confirmed that its headset, code-named Project Moohan, will be the first to run on Android XR and that it's coming out in 2025.

In a statement about the Project Moohan headset, Samsung said it would feature "state-of-the-art displays, passthrough capabilities and natural multi-modal input." Meanwhile, it's expected that the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event 2025 will bring more concrete details about this potential Apple Vision Pro rival.
