Samsung launches Galaxy A16 5G with six years of software support

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A16 5G with a set of significant upgrades in contrast to its predecessor, featuring a plethora of striking features including an enlarged 6.7-inch display with six years of Android version updates and security patches.

If users buy this handset, they can get these software enhancements by October 2030 available at a wallet-friendly price, which is quite impressive as it is challenging to find this much-improved level of software support for a budget-oriented device.

Chipset 

The recently launched Galaxy A16 5G is equipped with an Exynos 1330 in Europe, while other markets such as Thailand, India, and more are likely to house the Dimensity 6300 in the smartphone.

Display and storage 

It houses 4GB RAM and 128GB storage with external support for microSD cards up to 1.5 TB, supporting One UI UI 6.1 that efficiently runs on Android 14 along with a  Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Coming to the camera setup, Galaxy A16 5G features a 13MP selfie camera with a 50MP rear camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro lens.

Additional features

Galaxy A16 5G is IP54-rated for water and dust resistance, equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery with a 25W threshold that supports enhanced charging, and available in three tantalising hues including Midnight Blue, Turquoise and Grey colours.
