Samsung’s Galaxy tri-fold Handset has been the subject of speculation for a while now. Recently, credible analyst Ross Young tipped that Samsung is gearing up to launch a foldable device featuring three screens and two hinges by 2026. This innovation is expected to be a potential rival to Huawei’s flagship Mate XT Ultimate Design.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the tipster claimed that Samsung’s Galaxy tri-fold smartphone is expected to launch in early 2026. Further reports suggest the device will debut after the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, expected to launch in the second quarter of 2025.

Samsung’s tri-fold phone is rumoured to boast a 9-10 inch display when unfolded. When folded, it is expected to take on a compact rectangular shape with high-refresh-rate AMOLED panels. Additionally, Samsung received a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a flexible display device featuring a foldable design with three screens.
The forthcoming smartphone is likely to be powered by state-of-the-art processing power to make its tri-fold smartphone a game-changer.
In contrast, Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design, launched in September, is the world’s first triple-screen foldable phone, boasting several innovative features. Priced at CNY 19,999 for the standard variant with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, Huawei’s flagship tri-fold device is available only in China. However, Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone is anticipated to receive a global release.
