Samsung's much-anticipated Galaxy Ring made its debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The company announced before the annual conference that its upcoming smart ring will be publicly displayed at MWC 2024.
According to a Tomsguide, Samsung isn’t offering demos of the watch to attendees of MWC. However, they managed to get the first look at the new fitness tracker in close-up since it was announced with the Galaxy S24 series during Galaxy Unpacked in January.
The South Korean tech giant company has not made any major changes in the design of this smart ring different from other smart rings on the market but they maintained the selling point of a smart ring by giving it a slim size and sleek finish.
The ring is set to be available in three colours, black, gold and silver. In terms of width, it doesn’t look particularly thinner or thicker than the Oura Ring Gen 3, as per the report.
Samsung has provided each colour variant its display box, showcasing the nine available sizes from 5 to 13. The right fit is crucial for comfort and accurate sensor readings, and it's unclear if Samsung will adopt a similar sizing process to Oura Ring or something different.
In terms of functionality, the Galaxy Ring is expected to offer features similar to Samsung Health, focusing on activity and sleep tracking. Users will rely heavily on the Samsung Health smartphone app to check their health data.

According to The Verge, who spoke with Samsung’s VP of Digital Health Dr. Hon Pak, Samsung’s Natural Cycles integration will extend from the Galaxy Watch to the Galaxy Ring.
Price will play a crucial factor in the Galaxy Ring vs. Oura Ring competition, with Samsung likely aiming for a competitive edge. While Oura Ring starts at $299 plus a monthly subscription for full features, Samsung has hinted at avoiding monthly charges for fitness features.
The Galaxy Ring is reportedly launching in the summer of 2024, alongside the next generation of Galaxy Watch devices, the Galaxy Ring's debut could coincide with a summer Unpacked event.
