Samsung has been the dominant force in the global foldable market, setting the benchmark for others to follow. It is expected that Samsung could launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Recent leaks suggest that these devices might arrive earlier than expected this year.

According to AndroidAuthority, Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in early July 2024. The event is likely to take place in the second week of the month, possibly on a Wednesday. This could mean that the next Galaxy Unpacked event for 2024 might held on July 10, 2024.

Another Korean publication reported that Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in mid-July, with sales starting three to four weeks earlier than in previous years. The launch event could potentially be held in Paris, France, possibly to capture the promotional opportunity presented by the 2024 Summer Olympics, scheduled to take place in the city on July 26, 2024.

The Korean report indicated that Samsung has requested its key component suppliers to ‘complete quality testing by April’, significantly earlier than the previously mentioned June deadline.

Moreover, the upcoming foldable device from Samsung is expected to feature a Qualcomm SoC. The focus is reportedly on enhancing hinge technology, reducing thickness, and improving durability rather than introducing groundbreaking innovations such as double folding or sliding phones.

The report also restates previous rumours about a cheaper foldable model, suggesting that Samsung may face challenges in achieving its goals as prices that could be lowered have already been reduced.
