In an effort to prevent the masses from getting trapped by scammers, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued a high alert warning against a fraudulent trading platform named “IGIL Securities”.
Said to be trading in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and international stock markets, the illicitly operated trading app is endorsed on social media platforms, claiming to deliver considerable returns.
Fake PSX trading platform
"IGIL Securities” is neither registered nor licensed by SECP to deal in the selling or purchasing of shares in the PSX or any overseas stock exchanges, ProPakistani quoted the financial regulatory body as stating.
It should be noted that trading shares of listed companies and/or commodities is exclusively permitted to securities and futures brokers granted licenses by SECP. Those willing to be familiar with licensed brokers can head straight to the authority's official website.
In a warning issued to the public by SECP, it discouraged people from depositing or investing in funds with “IGIL Securities ” or any such trading platforms trapping trading-savvy individuals by faking their malicious operations as legitimate.
