The latest account of social media disruptions adds to the digital woes the country has been steering through for almost a month now, with experts attributing the increasing frequency of outages to security and surveillance by the government.

Not only is this situation taking a toll on the national IT sector but is also disturbing the already uneven posture of the business fraternity which heavily relies on the internet for the purpose of correspondence with their customers and clients.

As a result, the ongoing crisis regarding access to the internet and social media has stirred a situation of unrest in the business community, leading to a steep drop in the attainment of its financial objectives.
