Sonos, the America-based audio gadget manufacturer, launched its app in April and received a lot of criticism from users.
The company had planned to fix the issue within the new app. However, now it is considering to relaunch its old app, providing relief to the customers.
Previously, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence apologised to customers and told them that fixing all these issues in their app and enhancing the user experience is the company’s top priority.

As it appears that the plan might not be enough to satisfy customers, the company’s leadership has been discussing the idea of bringing back Sonos’ old “S2” app to solve users’ complaints.
Fixing the new app might cost between $20-30 million, which is why the company is considering bringing back the old app, Spence remarked.
The company also laid off around 100 of its employees on earlier this week. Spence justified the company’s decision as a measure to ensure continued, meaningful investment in Sonos’ product roadmap while setting Sonos up for long-term success.
Although Sonos is opting to delay its upcoming devices until the new app is fixed, it is still hoping to release an updated Arc soundbar, which is one of those two delayed products in October.
