Sony, a Japanese tech giant, released its earbuds: LinkBuds and LinkBuds in India in 2022. According to rumours, the true wireless (TWS) earphones are expected to be substituted this year.
However, the company’s earphones: WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM6 are anticipated to be released next year. Especially, the Sony WF-1000XM5 TWS earphones were launched in India last year. Whereas, the Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless over-ear headphones were launched in September 2022.
New Sony LinkBuds, WH-1000XM6, WF-1000XM6 launch
According to a tipster Zackbuks, Sony is expected to unveil the second generation of Sony LinkBuds S and Sony LinkBuds TWS earphones soon. However, the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Sony WH-1000XM5 successors, anticipated to be the Sony WF-1000XM6 and Sony WH-1000XM6, are likely to be released in 2025.

There are no more official details about the earphones available at the moment. The new products are likely to be offered with updates over the older ones.
Sony LinkBuds, Sony LinkBuds S features
The base model of Sony LinkBuds features a unique ring design, comes with adaptive volume control, Google Fast Pair, touch controls, and a confirmed battery life of up to 5.5 hours from the earphones along with an additional 12 hours from the charging case.
The Sony LinkBuds S, are confirmed to provide up to 20 hours of total battery life.
Sony WH-1000XM5, Sony WF-1000XM6 features
The Sony WF-1000XM5 are featured with an 8.4mm Dynamic Driver X and provide sport for SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3 codecs. They are claimed to give up to 36 hours of total battery life.
Whereas, the Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless earphones boast SBC, AAC, and LDAC Bluetooth codecs and a confirmed playback time of up to 30 hours on a single charge.
