Four SpaceX Crew-9 astronauts will relocate their Crew Dragon spacecraft to a new docking spot on the International Space Station (ISS) today, November 3.

The Crew-9 team includes NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Suni Williams, Butch Wilmore, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. All four astronauts must be aboard Crew Dragon for this relocation, per ISS safety protocols, to ensure everyone’s safe return to Earth if unexpected issues arise.

This move would transfer Crew Dragon from the ISS’s Harmony module forward port to its space-facing port.

NASA reassigned astronauts Williams and Wilmore, originally part of the Boeing Starliner mission, to Crew-9 after Starliner faced technical issues during an earlier ISS docking in June.

NASA decided it was too risky to bring them back on the Starliner spacecraft, so they joined Crew-9 for their return to Earth in February 2025.

This Crew Dragon relocation would also prepare the ISS for the arrival of a cargo Dragon spacecraft, set to launch on Monday, November 4, and dock at the now-empty Harmony port.
