The Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) recently launched an improved International Air Transport Association (IATA) Easy Pay solution, tailored specifically for the Pakistani market.

Utilising SCB's open APIs and virtual accounts, this solution drives end-to-end efficiency and transparency ranging from agent onboarding to airline settlements.

This closed-loop system also streamlines Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) for ticketing and payment processes for IATA agents in Pakistan. It reduces credit risk and provides an additional payment channel for agents.

SCB head of transaction banking Shiraz Hyder noted that the modified IATA Easy Pay solution underscores commitment to delivering efficient digital financial solutions tailored to the unique needs of clients.

“Standard Chartered is focused on providing seamless support to drive operational efficiency so that the air travel industry can deliver on its core business with ease, Hyder added.

“IATA Easy Pay is an additional payment solution for Pakistan’s travel agent community. Working with Standard Chartered Bank has allowed us to improve on the service offering for the Pakistan market,” IATA’s Country Manager for Pakistan, Feroze Jamal, stated.

Furthermore, to ensure seamless adoption, Standard Chartered and IATA will conduct roadshows in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, educating IATA agents on using this solution effectively.
