This quick guide will show you how to move apps around on the home screen with multiple taps for extreme usage of the interface.

Step-by-step guide

To rearrange apps on your home screen by tapping multiple times, follow these steps:

  1. Tap and hold on an app icon until it starts to jiggle (this is called "Edit mode").
  2. Tap on another app icon that you want to move.
  3. Without lifting your finger, drag the second app icon to its new location.
  4. Release your finger to drop the app icon into its new spot.
  5. Repeat steps from two-four again to move multiple apps.

Alternatively, on some devices, you can also:

  1. Tap and hold on an app icon until it starts to jiggle.
  2. Tap on multiple app icons quickly to select them (they will be highlighted).
  3. Drag one of the selected app icons to its new location.
  4. Release your finger to move all selected apps to the new spot.
