TCL has unveiled the Thunderbird U9, a new 27-inch gaming monitor, in China with 165Hz fast refresh rate. It is available for sale through the e-commerce website JD.com. 

TCL Thunderbird U9 specs

The TCL Thunderbird U9 features a 3840×2160 resolution (4K) display screen, TCL’s FAST-HVA panel and advanced 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC) for sharp visuals.

Equipped with Mini LED backlighting and 2,304 local dimming zones, Thunderbird U9 features enhanced lighting control, greater clarity, and reduced halo effects, making it the best option for high-end gaming.

The Thunderbird U9 monitor has a peak brightness of 1600nits and supports HDR 1400, giving natural light-like stunning HDR visuals.

The monitor uses QD Quantum Dot Wide Colour Gamut technology that covers around 95% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and 99% of the sRGB colour spectrum. It also has two USB-A 3.0 ports, a USB-B 3.0 upstream port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Additionally, the device is also compatible with both FreeSync Premium and G-Sync while featuring a height-adjustable stand for user comfort and flexibility. 

For eye protection during extended use, the Thunderbird U9 supports two low blue light modes and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) modes for multitasking. 

TCL Thunderbird U9 pricing

The TCL Thunderbird U9 gaming monitor is available for 3,699 Yuan (approximately $520) in China. However, its availability in other regions is yet to be confirmed.
