Telegram has been upgraded with advancements to the video and chat features on the messaging platform. The latest upgrade integrated new video speed controls, while enhancing the quality of videos along with support for faster loading, based on network connection quality.

After the Telegram update, users are now able to include media while editing a sent message. Telegram will showcase the last time a message was edited inside a chat.

Telegram's new video features

Telegram said that users will be able to speed up video playback by holding down on the right side of a video, then sliding to the right to increase playback speed up to 2.5x to offer faster access to the existing video speed controls.

Moreover, Telegram will automatically compress and optimise high-resolution videos uploaded by channel owners to three quality options — low, medium, and high. iOS users can swipe up on a video to use picture-in-picture (PiP) mode.

Message editing, chat-specific hashtags

Telegram is already supporting the ability to edit messages after they have been sent, users can now include media to a text message while making an edit.

The new feature has been integrated into the latest version of the app, letting users tap on a message and attach an image, which will be viewed in place of the original message.

Moreover, Telegram has unveiled another new feature called chat-specific hashtags, that are developed to make it simpler to locate messages with that tag inside a specific group or channel.

Meanwhile, Bots on Telegram can get revenue from Telegram Ads, letting users monetise their channels. The platform shares 50% of ad revenue from the platform with content creators, and now developers of bots can also earn revenue from the ad service.
