Telegram, an instant messaging service, announced the integration of new methods for creators to make money.

It is to be noted that the platform is releasing monthly paid subscriptions that users can purchase using Telegram’s digital currency, Stars, to get access to a creator’s extra content.

How it works?

Content creators can generate invite links that let users join a channel in exchange for a monthly payment in Stars. The main aim of Telegram’s feature is to allow creators to charge for extra or early access to content in a way that’s relatable to Patreon.

Additionally, creators can set the price for their content and can convert Stars into Toncoin cryptocurrency rewards or subsidised ads. Telegram takes a commission from transactions including Stars, while the company hasn’t officially specified how much.

Telegram is set to release Star Reactions, letting users directly support their favourite content creators. Star Reactions is relatable to YouTube’s “Super Thanks” feature and X’s (formerly known as Twitter) Tips feature. Creators receive 100% of the Stars they get through the Reactions feature.

Telegram’s new features are built to help creators earn money using its platform. Earlier, the company allowed creators to share paid content to their channels, and a few months ago, Telegram released ad revenue sharing with creators.
