We are at this point in time when one does not have to clog their device storage by downloading a stream of songs they like since all they need to do is navigate to YouTube or YouTube Music and hit the play button, not to mention a sound internet connection being mandatory.
However, in a distressing development in the realm of streaming, countless popular songs have reportedly disappeared or been deleted from YouTube and YouTube Music.
To bring to light the supposed removal of numerous songs from the biggest streaming platforms, thousands of users took to social media platforms and expressed frustration over the issue.

According to Android Authority, the platforms display the following message every time users play select songs on YouTube and YouTube Music: “This video contains content from SESAC. It is not available in your country.”
While such songs are still appearing on users' feeds, search results, and even under the Downloads section on the streaming platforms, the message displayed while playing them indicates there has been a licensing dispute between YouTube and the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC).
Addressing the issue upon a user's complaint on X (formerly Twitter), the YouTube team stated: “Our music license agreement with SESAC has expired without an agreement on renewal conditions despite our best efforts. For this reason, we need to block certain music content on YouTube in the US.”
