Meta’s Threads is now allowing users to see more details about their followers and interactions with people from other servers across the fediverse.
Meta has been enhancing its app in a bid to stay competitive with its rivals such as X (formerly Twitter) and deepened its ties with the fediverse since its inception.

Threads to show number of followers in fediverse
Users who have connected their accounts to the fediverse, the open social web, can now see who follows them and likes their posts from other fediverse servers, including the Mastodon and Pixelfed, Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced on Tuesday.
Till now, the Meta-owned platform has surfaced replies from Mastodon and other servers and has also informed users regarding likes on their posts from other fediverse apps. However, there was no option for a Threads user to see details about their followers from these services.
With the update rolling out, Threads’ users can tap on a post’s activity or their follower list to see the full list of followers as well as likes from other fediverse servers. To view the lists, tap on “fediverse followers” or “fediverse likes.”
This feature will provide Threads users with a better sense of their reach and audience on Mastodon and other apps.
Alongside this update, Threads is also allowing users with more time of up to 15 minutes to edit their posts. Earlier users only had five minutes to do so. However, unlike X, users don’t have to pay extra to access the feature.
