TikTok hosted an event titled "Grow with TikTok" on August 31, 2024, in Karachi, Pakistan. Aimed at facilitating small and medium business (SMB) owners and entrepreneurs in Pakistan, the TikTok event focused on empowering them with the knowledge and tools required to easily create productive videos.
While TikTok's algorithm is constantly evolving and the battle for ranking better is getting fierce, certain factors contribute to a video's success, including watch time, engagement, relevance, and user behaviour.
To boost reach and engagement, Gadinsider learned that creators should focus on creating high-quality, engaging content that resonates with their audience. This can be done using hashtags, tagging, and duets, which also result in increased visibility.
Why use TikTok for content creation?
TikTok is one of the fastest-growing entertainment platforms across the globe, and its rapidly widening presence in Pakistan is no exception. With millions of regularly active users, content creators' videos could potentially reach a vast audience, who may engage with their content.
TikTok Head of Content Operations and Marketing in Pakistan Saif Mujahid said: "If your content is good, productive, and creative, then you're bound to be successful on this rapidly growing entertainment platform."
TikTok offers a range of features to facilitate creators so that a diversity of content can be ensured. Among a myriad of common features on TikTok, the most used and renowned are these:
- For You Page: This is essentially a personalised feed that appears first when users open the TikTok app. The "For You Page" is receptive to users' behaviour and content preferences. For example, if a user is prone to watching sports-related content, such as videos from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), for approximately 20 seconds, TikTok's algorithm will adapt and bring relevant content onto his feed.
- Adding Music: It’s rare to find a TikTok video without music in the background or as an overlay. TikTok has over 150,000 songs or sounds that creators can use for content creation. "Music increases your chances of boosting content engagement," stated Saif Mujahid.
- Finding Stickers: Stickers are one of the most popular tools on TikTok, with hundreds available depending on the type of content users produce. Using relevant stickers can make users' content more appealing and help it reach a broader audience.
Apart from these, there's also a feature called "Q&A" that is yet to be launched in Pakistan. Other popular features on TikTok include reply with video, green screen, and auto-captions, which users can deploy in their content creation to create engaging content and reach a wider audience than before.
