The popular short video-making platform TikTok is currently testing a new feature that utilises artificial intelligence to generate songs that users can incorporate into their posts on the platform.
The "AI Song" feature uses Bloom, a large language model (LLM), to create song lyrics based on a prompt entered by the user.
These AI-generated lyrics are then matched with music from a pre-existing catalogue on TikTok, potentially resulting in different lyrics set to the same tune, PCMag noted in a report.

Moreover, the AI Song feature will enable users to adjust the music genre of their created song, such as switching from pop to hip-hop.

The final song can be used as the background music for the video being shared on the platform.
Songs created using this feature must comply with certain rules, including not exploiting or harming minors, and not spreading false or harmful personal information.
Additionally, TikTok makes the feature less likely to be used for impersonation, defamation, or harassment of others.
The AI Song feature is currently in the experimental phase and is only accessible to a small group of TikTok users. Depending on its performance, it may or may not be made available to the general public in the future.
