Toyota launches updated GR Corolla with latest features

Toyota, a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer, has announced the 2025 GR Corolla, introducing major advancements that efficiently caters to manual transmission enthusiasts and those who chose the ease of an automatic.

Currently, the new model integrates an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) with paddle shifters, extending its appeal to a wide range of drivers.

GR Corolla key updates

The Toyota GR Corolla's key update involves a boost in engine torque to 295 lb.-ft. The adoption of release control for powerful acceleration. The suspension has been modified for enhanced stability during cornering, and a revamped front bumper improves cooling and aerodynamics.

The 2025 GR Corolla provides three trims — Core, Premium and the new Premium Plus. Each model sports Toyota’s G16E-GTS 1.6L 3-cylinder turbo engine, producing 300 hp. The Premium Plus trim integrates exclusive features such as a forged carbon fibre roof, a bulge hood, and matte black wheels.

Drivers can anticipate improved performance with the GR-FOUR All-Wheel-Drive system, Torsen Limited-Slip Differentials, and various drive modes tailored for different driving conditions. 

Inside, the GR Corolla features an eight-inch digital gauge cluster, Toyota Audio Multimedia with an eight-inch touchscreen, and advanced connected services.

Safety remains primary with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which provides a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features. The 2025 GR Corolla models would come at dealerships this winter, with further details and pricing expected to be revealed later this year.
