The Popular caller ID app Truecaller is working on a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature to help users detect AI scam calls.

Leveraging the capabilities of AI, the AI Call Scanner feature possesses the ability to detect whether the voice of caller belongs to a human or is AI-assisted.

The feature comes in wake of the rapidly growing scale of AI voice scams carried out by mischievous elements contacting people in their acquaintances' voices with intentions to trap call's attendees.

As reported by Gadgets360, the feature — capable of analysing callers' voice in real-time and providing results in few seconds — will be first rolled out to the US.

To achieve the analysis of audio frequencies and the provision of results, the feature records the initial part of a call and then processes it with its proprietary AI model.

Slated to be available for Premium subscribers having the latest version of Truecaller on Android, the AI model has been trained to differentiate between human speech and AI-generated voices, as per the company.
