iPhone and iPad users, beware, as a new warning has been issued by a security researcher on Wednesday that highlights that typing simply four characters might result in crashing your iPhone and iPad devices.

Supposedly, when someone swipes past all the Home Screen pages and searches for the four characters in the App Library, the iPhone will reload to the Lock Screen, resulting in the bug.
The bug also occurs when an iPhone user types four characters including two quotation marks followed by two colons "":: into the Settings App’s search bar.
If triggered, this character bug crashes the iPhone’s Springboard, causing it to reload to the Lock Screen.
The web expert warned users to avoid experimenting with this unless they want to take the risk of crashing their device.
The bug can be triggered in the latest version of the iOS 17 and iOS 18 beta. However, some reports suggested that the new iOS update, 17.6.2, might address the issue and fix the bug.
