Flying without Wi-Fi or any kind of internet could be as boring as it could be, since it turns your hours-long journey, sometimes day-long, into an unavoidable void.

To set aside this misery, United Airlines has teamed up with SpaceX to incorporate high-speed Wi-Fi into its in-flight service.

Citing an official press release, Android Police reported that United Airlines disclosed a remarkable upgrade to its in-flight Wi-Fi.

If comes to fruition, United Airlines' flights will be equipped with free Starlink internet by 2025, ensuring users have access to high-speed satellite internet throughout their flight without paying a petty dime.

It's a common encounter for by-air travellers that plagued Wi-Fi, bringing various issues that discourage users by being trickily accessed, showing weak signals, and being expensive. However, Elon Musk's game-changing satellite internet shoves all of this aside and takes in-flight internet at an entirely different scale.

After its implementation, utilising a network of satellites in low Earth orbit will bring to the table Starlink's strong, reliable signal to flight passengers with just the installation of a Starlink antenna onto the aircraft.

The moment passengers board the United Airlines aircraft, Starlink's internet will be active till they land, reminiscent of other airlines using the service.

The publication reported that testing for the in-flight Starlink internet will begin in the first quarter of 2025, with a potential launch expected in late that year.
